N91, a member of Nokia N-series is positioned as a music phone by its manufacturer. With a comprehensive list of features and good looks, the handset grabs the attention of any mobile user. But is all the hype around this Nokia mobile phone really worthy or is simply a marketing buzz. In this article we will try to make an assessment on the performance of Nokia N91.
Features:
The feature list is long and comprehensive. Music, camera, multimedia, personalization features and huge memory- Nokia N91 has all. The music player supports all popular file formats like MP3, AAC, M4A, eAAC and WMA which is impressive. The handset has other music capabilities like play lists, album art, preset equalizer settings and ID3 tags. But to play iTunes you need a upgraded software, which takes the sheen out of this music phone. The sound quality and volume levels are great and soothing to ears. The handset boasts of a 2-megapixel camera which shoots average quality pictures and in no way can be touted as a replacement to digital cameras. The resolution of 1600 x 1200 is good for sending MMS. Nokia N91 has Lifeblog which is a digital photo album for photographers and bloggers. The feature enables you to post your images on the blogs which is a novelty for mobile users. The handset also has multitude of connectivity options like 3G, Bluetooth 1.2, Tri-band GSM support, USB and Wi-Fi. There is no Infrared but rest of the connectivity options are enough to offer uninterrupted connectivity.
Design:-
Nokia N91 is bulky with measurements of 113.1mm x 55.2mm x 22mm and 156 grams in weight, but nonetheless in comparison to other smart-phones it stands good. The stainless steel casing adds durability and solidity to the handset. The keypad is not an encouraging one mainly because of small keys but the soft blue light surrounding the keys makes the keypad distinct allowing you to type in the dark.
Performance:-
Barring a few features Nokia N91 has the potential to meet users expectations. A 4GB hard drive creates enough space to store loads of songs and images. The voice-quality and audibility is good and meets the standard of latest developments in mobile telephony.
The Nokia N91, quite true to its reputation is an excellent music phone with loads of space for music but has some flaws which if fixed will give it wider acceptance, but if you are a music lover who wants to carry his collection then this handset should definitely be considered.
